Brave New World Artifacts
This project consists of three graphics created to represent the aspect of society in the book Brave New World. The book is a science fiction dystopian written in the 1930's, depicting a society in which human beings are no longer born, but are grown in labs. The society "conditions" the grown humans from their inception to fit the general idea of a "utopian" world, in which the world is very artificial, and most, if not all, aspects of nature has been completely removed from society.

The three graphics I created are supposed to represent the artificial "assembly line" society depicted in Brave New World, and the specific aspects of that society. I have incorporated a combination of artistic and "artificial" styles in conjunction with each other, creating more of what I would consider symbolic pieces of art.
This graphic represents the effects of "Soma" on the perceptions of society. The drug would be used to basically hide the real world from the citizens and keep them occupied by this false "happy" world.
This image represents the conditioning that infants would be put through to ensure that they are properly brainwashed. The infants would be treated to something like a book or a flower, in which they would be shocked. This process would be repeated hundreds of times before they are deemed "conditioned" against nature. This is one of many conditioning processes used on infants in Brave New World.
This graphic represents what the society does with anything that would threaten their "perfect world," including those who are not properly conditioned or grown, or are otherwise considered "unorthodox." The society would exile any unorthodox citizens, and send them to a separate island away from everyone else, essentially throwing them out like they would get rid of trash.
While these aren't particularly animations, I do feel that this small project introduced me into the creative and logical thinking aspect of creating art in general, and those skills would fit very well with the animations I made.
